This Page is REQUIRED**
**This page is different than the others**
The Digital Access page requires action research. You will choose which digital access topic (access to devices or assistive technology) to focus on. Then you will send out a survey to your targeted audience. This page should provide SOLUTIONS based on the results of your survey (see example at bottom of page). Choose your survey questions purposely in order to give you insight into what type of support your target audience needs about that topic. This page will serve as that support.
Choose a topic: Your "Digital Access" Page will:
(1) provide examples and information about types of assistive technologies that are available
and the operation/function of those technologies, OR
(2) provide resources/places/ services for individuals to access computing services and technologies.

The plan to develop the webpage
- Learn about online survey tools.
- Research assistive technologies tools OR sources/resources for equitable and accessible technologies in the community.
- Write the survey items to determine the information NEEDED for this page of your website.
- Create and administer the survey. (Complete Week 4)
- Collect and analyze the data results.
- Using the data results, research content for the website. What recommendations do you have for your school based on the survey?
- Design and develop the website - include the following:
- Your Survey
- Summarize your findings
- How do your findings compare to articles we have been reading
- What are your recommendations for your school
POSSIBLE Digital ACCESS Themes
- Do individuals have access to technology
in school and in the community? - Do individuals have access to tools and technologies to be success in school? - Do individuals have access to tools and technologies that will enable them to meet the instructional, learning, or work goals? |
(Pacercenter, 2010)
|
Make your website interesting! Embed videos and include pictures to grab your audience's attention.
POSSIBLE Assistive Technology themes
What types of assistive technologies are needed in
your work environment? - Do teacher/fellow employees know and are they able to use the assistive technologies? - Are the individuals who need the assistive technologies involved in making the decisions? - Do individuals have access to tools and technologies that will enable them to meet the instructional, learning, or work goals? |

Digital Access Survey - place the survey after the introduction
Survey Results - place results after the survey
Be sure to summarize your results! Graphs are helpful. What data stood out and influenced your research? Results should be view-able to anyone with the link.
Solutions
Based on the survey results, what misconceptions and support can your page provide?
Here is an example of how Donna, a previous candidate from Spring ‘15, used her survey results to research and provide her targeted audience with information that will help them with digital access. Notice how her results are inter- weaved with solutions. She needed the results of her survey in order to plan the content for this portion of the page. Both the survey and full results should be linked and/or embedded on the digital access page.
